Prayer Shawl Ministry meets monthly - Contact Lynda Bateman through the church office.

At St. Giles we have a group of dedicated knitters and crocheters who create beautiful shawls.

The purpose of St. Giles Prayer Shawl Ministry is to create prayer shawls made with prayer and love for people needing the warm arms of concern wrapped around them. The shawls are given to people who are ill, have suffered a loss, or are in the midst of a life crisis.

The group meets monthly at the church to work together and pray for those who will receive their shawls, and often work hard at home. Each knitter or crotcheter begins the work with prayer. We may not know who the shawl is going to, but often we will and we can pray specifically for the individual. The shawls are blessed during a church service before being given to the recipient.

Get Involved
You can join our Prayer Shawl Ministry by getting involved in making shawls with us. Donations of either yarn or monies to purchase yarn will be most appreciated.

We also love giving out our prayer shawls. You can request a shawl for a friend or loved one you know that is in need. Each shawl is delivered to the recipient along with a card containing a special message.
